#19 Stockton Overwhelms Rutgers-Camden 88-59

Camden, N.J. – Stockton University (11-2, 6-0 NJAC) remained unbeaten in conference play with a convincing 88-59 victory at Rutgers-Camden (5-7, 0-6 NJAC). The Ospreys, who are ranked 19th in the latest D3hoops.com poll, shot 54.2% from the field in the win.
 
EJ Matthews-Spratley (Cherry Hill/CH East) paced Stockton with a game-high 19 points to lead four Ospreys in double figures. Matthews-Spratley also tallied six rebounds and a game-high four assists.
 
Andrew Crawford (Haddon Hts./Camden Catholic) went 3-4 from three-point range and finished with career highs of 12 points and six rebounds. Tayvon Gaither (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) also scored 12 markers followed by Eriq Campbell (West Atco/Lindenwold) with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Michael Evans (Sicklerville/Doane Academy) notched a career high with nine points and Christian Armstrong-Thomas (Marlton/Cherokee) also tallied nine points. Led by Campbell's 10 rebounds and seven by Armstrong-Thomas, the Ospreys dominated the glass 44-25.
 
Matthews-Spratley scored 14 points to spark Stockton to a commanding 36-15 lead in the first 15 minutes of play. The Ospreys then slumped as Rutgers-Camden used a 17-5 run to get within single digits, 41-32, at the half.
 
Stockton pulled away by shooting a blistering 61.5% (16-26) from the field in the second half, including 6-12 (50%) from three-point range, while outscoring the Scarlet Raptors 47-27. The Ospreys used a 12-0 run to fashion a 62-36 advantage with 11:26 remaining, and they cruised to the 88-59 triumph.
 
Eleven Ospreys played at least five minutes and nine of them scored at least five points.
 
Up next, Stockton will host Montclair State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
