Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-3-5, 1-1-2 NJAC) saw their six-match unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 defeat to Rutgers-Camden (2-5-6, 1-2-2 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Makayla Jaffe (Middletown/ Middletown South) squeezed off seven of the Ospreys 11 shots in the game.
After a scoreless first half that was played in the midfield by both teams, The Scarlet Raptors scored the eventual winning tally. At 54:55 Talia Thomasson gathered a rebound off a blocked shot and hit the top right corner for the 1-0- lead.
Stockton quickened the pace with seven shots and six corner kicks but were unable to push home the tying goal in the one-goal defeat.
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made one save in the loss, while Giselle Lizardi kicked out five Osprey attempts in posting the shutout for Rutgers-Camden.
Stockton will finish their three-game homestand on Wednesday night, when the Ospreys will face #17 Rowan University at G. Larry James Stadium. Game time is set for 6 pm.
