Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (11-6, 3-2 NJAC) extended its winning streak to four straight, including three in conference play, with a dominant 3-0 sweep of defending NJAC champion William Paterson (11-9, 1-3 NJAC).
The Ospreys were in control throughout the contest, which included just two lead changes the entire match.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) led Stockton with a match-high 16 kills and a .344 hitting percentage.
Nicole Palmer (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) chipped in with match highs of 13 digs and four aces to go with nine kills.
Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) smacked eight kills and recorded a .429 hitting percentage.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) handed out 22 assists followed by
Kristen Burton (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding) with 12 assists.
Stockton broke out to a 6-1 lead in the first set and stayed in front all the way to a 25-17 win. Louer led the offense with four kills followed by Palmer and Wilson with three apiece.
After four ties and two lead changes early in the second set, the Ospreys seized the lead with a commanding 12-2 run. The outburst resulted in a 20-12 advantage and Stockton cruised to a 25-16 victory. Louer and Palmer spiked five and four kills respectively.
The third set was all Ospreys as they built a 16-10 lead and then reeled off eight straight points to pull away and close out the sweep 25-14. Louer tallied seven more kills in the stanza.
Cecilia Miller paced William Paterson with nine kills. Abby Houpt dished 13 assists and Bella Demers scooped eight digs for the Pioneers.
Stockton will play at tri-match at Arcadia University on Saturday, taking on Alvernia at 1:00 p.m. followed by the host team at 3:00 p.m.
