Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (9-4-3, 4-1-1 NJAC) captured a key NJAC match with a 2-0 victory over Ramapo College (9-5-1, 2-4-0 NJAC) by a 2-0 final on Saturday afternoon.
Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune) and freshman
William Lynch (Bensalem, PA/Notre Dame) scored the markers for the Ospreys.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes of play, Stockton broke through in the 68th minute of the second half. Louisius was sent in by
Aidan Pereira (Spotswood/Spotswood) and was able to tap in his ninth goal of the season to the low right corner for the 1-0 lead.
Just over four minutes later, Lynch scored the fifth goal of his rookie season on a pass from
Christian Pereira (Newark/St. Peter's Prep) for the insurance tally and a two-goal margin.
The Osprey defense made it stand up as the home team held an 18-2 shot advantage on the day, with 10 being on net, while holding the Roadrunners without a shot on goal in the match.
Kyle Birmingham (Budd Lake/Mt. Olive) did not have to make a save in posting his first individual shutout of the season and second of his career.
Stockton will take on Rutgers-Newark for their next game at home on Wednesday night. The game is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
