Stockton Draws with NJCU 2-2

Jersey City, NJ – Stockton University (5-2-5, 1-0-2 NJAC) played to a 2-2 draw at New Jersey City University (7-4-1, 0-2-1 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon, extending the Ospreys unbeaten streak to five straight matches. Logan Shaw (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) scored her fifth goal in the last five games for the Ospreys.

After surrendering a goal 6:25 into the contest, Shaw took a pass from Carissa Goodwin (Wayne/Wayne Hills) for her sixth goal of the season to pull Stockton into a 1-1 tie. It was Goodwin's first career assist.

Stockton took the lead in the 54th minute when Makayla Jaffe (Middletown/ Middletown South) tallied her third goal of the season from the right side of the box for the 2-1 advantage. Katie Ambos (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) and Kylee Reissek (Newfield/Delsea) assisted on the marker.

The Gothic Knights would knot the game at 67:51 but that would be all the scoring in the 2-2 draw in the fast-paced game. The squads combined for 37 shots with 19 on goal.

Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made seven saves for Stockton while Sophia Mannino kicked out eight Osprey attempts in net for NJCU.

Stockton will begin a three-game homestand starting on Tuesday night, when the Ospreys will face Eastern University at G. Larry James Stadium. Game time is set for 6 pm.
