Collegeville, PA – Stockton University (7-3-3, 2-0-1 NJAC) saw their six-match unbeaten streak to come a halt with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Ursinus Bears (3-6-2) in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night.
Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) tallied the lone goal for the Ospreys in the game.
Â
The home team took the early 1-0 lead in the first half on a penalty kick for the only scoring in the first 45 minutes of play. Stockton dominated the play most of the match, outshooting the Bears 8-3 in the first half and 20-7 overall but could not find the back of the net.
Â
The Ospreys kept up the pressure, but Ursinus' defense was able to fend off the visitors. The Bears scored what would prove to be the game winner at 82:22 on Matthew McFadden's second tally of the night to make it 2-0.
Â
Stockton kept firing away until Hoenisch scored his fifth goal of the season at 88:05.
Uche Wokocha (Galloway/St. Augustine Prep) and
Kieran Sundermann (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) assisted on the marker. The Ospreys had one last chance with 30 seconds left but Wokocha's header sailed wide, and the Bears came away with the 2-1 victory.

Eddie Smith (Florence/Florence Twp.) accounted for 11 of the Ospreys' 20 shots in the game.
