Stockton Uses Balanced Scoring in 12-9 Win

Elizabethtown, PA – Stockton University (4-3) used a balanced scoring attack to down Elizabethtown College (2-3) 12-9 on Wednesday evening. Five Ospreys scored two goals each led by Liam Humphrey (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) who totaled two goals and two assists for four points.
 
The Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead after one period as Nick Grande (Hunterdon/North Hunterdon, from Humphery, and Jack Vandegrift (Jenkintown, PA/LaSalle College Prep) hit the net for Stockton.
 
The osprey evened the contest with three goals to a pair for the home team to forge a 6-6 tie at the break. Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West), Gage Parker (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown), Grande and freshman Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley). Humphrey picked up his second helper on Grande's tally.
 
Stockton took control of the game in a 5-2 third period for an 11-8 advantage. Robbie O'Brien (Springfield, PA/Springfield Delco) started the onslaught followed by Vandegrift, Albrecht and a pair by Humphrey for the three-goal margin heading into the final frame.
 
Graham added his second goal of the game, and first career multi-goal contest of his career, to make it 12-8. The home team tacked on one marker, but time ran out as Stockton captured the 12-9 victory.
 
Goalkeeper Ben Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) continues his fine season in net with 10 saves and leading the team with five ground balls. He has made double-digit saves in five of the seven games this year.
 
For the Blue Jays, Jay Rodriguez and Reese Levinson scored three goals each, with netminder Brayden Franey kicking out 14 shots in net.
 
Stockton will return home to face Ithaca College on Saturday for their next match. The contest is scheduled for 1 pm in Galloway.
