Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (1-1, 1-0 NJAC) began its spring season with a 5-2 victory over William Paterson (2-5, 0-1 NJAC). The match also was the conference opener for both teams. The Ospreys earned the doubles point with shutouts in both matches that were contested.
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) and
Kim Wash (Shamong/Seneca) won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles while
Rocio Lucero (West New York/Memorial) and
Arielis Martinez (Millville/Cumberland County Tech) did the same at No. 2 doubles.
Stockton then took four out of the five singles matches that were played, led by Pasquale with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph in the No. 1 spot. Wash earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. Martinez and Lucero captured wins by similar scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively.
Stockton will be back in action tomorrow morning for an NJAC match at Kean University at 10:30 a.m.
