Swarthmore, Pa. – Stockton University (3-2) played its first of two straight games against ranked opponents and fell to unbeaten Swarthmore (4-0) 22-7. The Garnet are ranked 14th in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll.
Liam Humphrey (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) tallied one goal and one assist for the Ospreys. Six additional Stockton players netted one marker apiece including freshman
Brian Kelly (Glen Ridge/St. Peter's Prep), who scored his first career goal.
Swarthmore struck four times in the opening five minutes before
Robbie O'Brien (Springfield, Pa./Springfield-Delco) got the Ospreys on the board.
Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) potted Stockton's lone goal of the second quarter.
In the third period, Humphrey found the net and assisted on a man-up marker by
Evan Deans (Olney, Md./James Hubert Blake).
Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), Kelly and
Riley Burns (Mullica Hill/Clearview) reeled off three straight goals in the fourth quarter of the 22-7 setback.
Four Stockton goalkeepers saw action, with
Will Kasica (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) making a career high six saves and recording a .500 save percentage in 23:35 between the posts.
Clay Almgren paced Swarthmore with a goal and three assists for four points. Nolan Ohrman contributed two goals and an assist for the 14th-ranked Garnet.
After starting the season with five consecutive road games, Stockton will play its home opener on Monday, March 10 when the Ospreys host No. 6-ranked Wesleyan University at 1:00 p.m.
