Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University (11-6) was denied in its upset bid by 13th-ranked The College of New Jersey (13-4) 17-9 in the semifinals of the NJAC Tournament. The Ospreys were the No. 4 seed and TCNJ is the No. 1 seed.
Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) led Stockton with a team-high three goals while freshman
Charlotte Ondria (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) contributed a goal and three assists for a team-high four points.
Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) tallied two goals and an assist and
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) potted two goals for the Ospreys.
Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) displayed her trademark all-around play with a team-high three caused turnovers plus two draw controls and one ground ball.
Stockton stayed right with their ranked opponent into the early stages of the third quarter. Costello scored twice in the first 11 minutes to help the Ospreys forge a 3-3 tie. Marinello later struck for the last goal of the half to pull Stockton within 8-5.
After TCNJ opened the second-half scoring, markers by Costello and Marinello just under two minutes apart closed the gap to 9-7. The game slipped away from the Ospreys as the Lions netted seven straight goals to seal the outcome.
CJ Kole paced TCNJ with five goals and two assists while Ally Tobler totaled four goals, two assists, 10 draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Stockton finished the 2025 season with 11 victories, reaching double figures for the third straight year under head coach
Denise Roessler and sixth time in the program's 12 seasons overall. The Ospreys set team records for assists (131) and points (359) in a season.
