Stockton Splits Two NJAC Matches

Camden/Ewing, N.J. - Stockton University (5-2, 3-1 NJAC) played a pair of conference matches on Saturday. The Ospreys defeated Rutgers-Camden (6-6, 0-2 NJAC) 4-3 in the morning for their fifth straight win.

After dropping two doubles matches and forfeiting the other, Stockton won four out of the five singles matches that were played to edge the Scarlet Raptors. Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout.

Kim Wash (Shamong/Seneca) won 6-4, 6-1 and Arielis Martinez (Millville/Cumberland County Tech) added a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Rocio Lucero (West New York/Memorial) posted a 7-6, 6-1 triumph as the quartet of singles wins lifted Stockton to victory.

The Ospreys then headed north to face perennial NJAC champion TCNJ (5-5, 3-0 NJAC) and had their winning streak snapped with a 7-0 setback in the afternoon. The Lions have never lost to a conference opponent.

Stockton will finish the regular season with a non-conference match at Drew University on April 18 at 3:00 p.m.
