Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (11-13, 1-5 NJAC) dropped a 9-1 game to Rowan University (17-7, 3-3 NJAC) on Wednesday afternoon. Nick Avagnano (Paramus/Paramus) had three of the Ospreys five hits in the game.

Rowan plated a single run in the first inning that lasted until Stockton knotted the game 1-1 in the third frame. Evan Bresnen (Allentown/Steinert) walked and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Jordan Nitti (Hamilton/Steinert) reached on a throwing error that allowed Bresnen to score the tying run.

The Profs broke the game open with seven runs on six hits in the fifth inning to take a commanding 8-1 lead. The visitors added another marker the next inning for an eight-run advantage.

The Ospreys tried to rally, putting a pair of runners on base in the sixth and eighth innings but could not sustain any momentum and fell by the 9-1 final.

Cooper Fiore (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove), and Tucker Elder (Ewing/Ewing) accounted for the other Stockton safeties in the contest. Freshman Jack Tiernan (Brick/St. Rose) the first of four Osprey hurlers, took the loss with 4.1 innings and two strikeouts.
