Galloway, N.J. – Three Stockton University cross country runners were selected for NJAC weekly honors for the week of September 1-8. All three ran in their first college race at the Stevens Back to the Bowl Invitational on Saturday.
Paige McCabe (Moorestown/Moorestown) was named NJAC Runner of the Week while freshman
Madison Pratt (Galloway/Absegami) was selected as NJAC Rookie of the Week for women's cross country. Freshman
Muhammad Khan (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) was chosen NJAC Rookie of the Week for men's cross country.
McCabe finished eighth out of 74 runners in her first career race with a time of 21:24.20. She was the top rookie runner in the Stevens Back to the Bowl Invitational.
Pratt placed 10th with a time of 21:48.30 at the season-opening meet for the Ospreys. McCabe and Pratt led Stockton to a second-place finish out of 10 teams.
Khan finished 23rd out of 93 runners at the Stevens Back to the Bowl Invitational with a time of 18:22.80 in his first career race. The freshman was the second Osprey across the finish line, and he helped Stockton to fourth place out of 10 squads at the meet.
The Stockton cross country teams will travel to Kutztown, Pa. this Saturday to run in the Kutztown DII/DIII Challenge. The women will start at 10:00 a.m. and the men will follow at 11:00 a.m.
