Zemirah Enalls (Barnegat/Barnegat) was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week and fellow frosh
Bre Evans (Neptune/Neptune) was chosen NJAC Rookie of the Week.
Junior
Elaina Styer (Estell Manor/Ocean City) was selected NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for women's indoor track & field. All three Ospreys received the awards for the second time this season. Enalls also is a two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week for a total of four conference awards so far.
Styer excelled in three events at the Gotham Cup on Friday. The junior finished second and broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.93 seconds that is tied for 12th in NCAA Division III and first in the Metro region.
Styer placed fourth out of 15 in the high jump at a height of 1.60 meters that is tied for first in the NJAC and tied for third in the Metro region. She also ran a leg of the 4x400 relay, in which Stockton finished third out of 13 teams.
Enalls was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season in the last three week after she continued her tremendous rookie season by averaging 13.0 rebounds per game for the week, including 15 boards on the offensive glass. The forward shot a team-high 57.1% (8-14) from the floor in two conference games as well.
In the win over Rowan, Enalls grabbed 19 boards, 10 offensive, the third time this season she has grabbed 19 or more caroms. She scored 10 points against the Profs for her fifth double-double of the season. Enalls currently leads the league in rebounds (10.0 rpg) and offensive rebounds (5.5 orpg).
Evans led the Ospreys in scoring (15.5 ppg), assists (2.5 apg) and steals (3.0 spg) during Stockton's two wins last week. The freshman scored a team-high 19 points on 7-14 (50%) shooting against Rowan while playing all 40 minutes, then added 12 points and four steals against Ramapo. Evans ranks fourth in the NJAC in steals (2.2 spg).
The Stockton women's basketball team will have two conference matchups this week, both at the Sports Center. The Ospreys will host Kean University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and then host William Paterson on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
The men's and women's track & field teams will compete in the Liberty University (Va.) Open and the Moravian Hounds Indoor Classic this weekend.
