15 Ospreys Earn Spots on NFHCA National Academic Squad

Galloway, N.J. – Fifteen players from the Stockton University field hockey team qualified for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad by achieving cumulative grade point averages of 3.50 or higher through the Fall 2025 semester.
 
Seniors Miana Alessandroni (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson), MaKenzie Baggstrom (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) and EB Rafferty (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) qualified for the National Academic Squad for the fourth consecutive year.
 
Seniors Makayla Alessi (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) and Carlee Thompson (Gibbsboro/Eastern Regional) and juniors Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) and Maura Somers (Berlin/Eastern Regional) earned the NFHCA academic recognition for the third time.
 
Senior Erika Roura (Mt. Laurel/Lenape), junior Riley DeMarco (Hammonton/Cedar Creek) and sophomores Paige Freas (Mickleton/GCIT) and Brielle Romano (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) collected honors for the second time.
 
Sophomore Jessica Bruther (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) and freshmen Abby D'Arcangelo (Egg Harbor Twp.), Melany Mosier (Berlin/Eastern Regional) and Meghan Phillips (Somers Point/Holy Spirit) all were first-time qualifiers for the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
 
The Stockton field hockey team posted 11 victories during in 2025, reaching double digits for the third straight year and sixth time in nine full seasons under head coach Sarah Elleman. The Ospreys also reached the NJAC Tournament for the third consecutive year. The team set school records for goals (60) and points (158) in a season and tied the program mark of 38 assists.
