Stockton Tops Mary Washington 16-12

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (10-4, 1-2 CLC) topped Mary Washington (6-7, 1-3 CLC) 16-12 in a closely contested conference game. Right off the bat the game was a close contest with the first period having 10 goals and two lead changes and two ties.
 
The Ospreys goals were scored by Colin Wagner (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) who scored two, Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), Gage Parker (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and Chris Funston (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) with one apiece.
 
The second period continued to see back-and-forth play. The Eagles took the lead back, scoring four unanswered goals. The Ospreys answered with a goal from Jack Vandegrift (Jenkintown, Pa./LaSalle College Prep).
 
The Ospreys were able to cut the lead and go into half down 11-9. Parker scored his second of the game while Alex DeLierre (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) and Nate Sears (Medford/Shawnee) got on the score sheet. 
 
The third period was an impressive showing for the Ospreys. The first goal of the third came from Mary Washington but was quickly answered by Vandegrift's second goal of the game to spark a run of seven straight by the Ospreys. Two markers Vandegrift and Parker plus one from Graham made it 14-12 in Stockton's favor after three
 
The Ospreys put the game to rest in the fourth period with insurance goals by Calen Reid (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) and Graham as the Ospreys finished the game with a 16-12 victory. 
 
Parker led the Ospreys with four goals. Vandegrift and Graham got a hat trick each. On the defensive side, Cole Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) led with 11 ground balls. Goalkeeper Tyler Sininsky (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) played the second half and stopped four of the five shots on goal that he faced.
 
Dave Votapek paced Mary Washington with three goals and two assists followed by Tanner Boone with two goals and an assist. Eagles' goalie Ryan D'Angelo made 17 saves.
 
The Ospreys look to extend their modest two-game winning streak on Tuesday at Neumann University at 4:00 p.m.
