Pennsauken, N.J. – Stockton University entered two varsity eights and one varsity four in the Knecht Cup at Cooper River Park on Saturday and Sunday. The Osprey varsity eight won the Division III gold medal for the second time in the last four years.
Varsity Eight:

Stockton won the grand final by just 86 hundredths of a second over St. Mary's (Md.) with a time of 7:30.21 on Sunday afternoon. The Ospreys qualified for the grand final with second place in their heat on Saturday in a time of 7:23.31 that was the second fastest out of 12 teams in three heats.
Stockton finished 7.93 seconds behind St. Mary's in the heat but avenged that result by topping the runner-up Seahawks in the grand final to capture the gold medal.

On Saturday, Stockton won their heat of three teams with a time of 7:39.36 that was 94 hundredths of a second ahead of Case Western Reserve. The time was fifth out of 12 overall and earned the Ospreys a spot as the only 2V8 in Sunday's grand final, where they placed fifth at 7:58.57.

Four freshmen rowed in the event for Stockton, finishing fifth in their heat with a time of 9:21.43 on Saturday. The Ospreys then placed third out of five teams in the petite final on Sunday with a time of 9:44.75.
