Ospreys of the Week 24

Ospreys of the Week: April 6-12

Men's Track and Field
Ahmad Fogg (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) won the long jump with a distance of 7.10 meters that moved him into 23rd in NCAA Division III. Fogg also finished third in the high jump (1.90m).
 
Conner Auge (Williamstown/GCIT) won the 5000m with a time of 16:03.45 at the TCNJ Invitational.
 
Baseball
Matthew McCloskey (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) had a home run in two consecutive games last week. McCloskey smashed his first career home run against Alvernia where he drove in three RBI. McCloskey's second home run came against Immaculata. He tallied two home runs, eight hits, seven runs, and four stolen bases for the week. 
 
Nick Kowalewski (Point Pleasant/Point Pleasant Boro) was named NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week. Kowalewski was outstanding on the mound against TCNJ. Kowalewski tossed a career-high eight shutout innings and allowed just three hits for his first career win. 
 
Women's Track and Field
Elaina Styer (Estell Manor/Ocean City) was named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. Styer won the heptathlon with a total of 5,050 points that broke the 20-year-old school record and placed her second in NCAA Division III. Styer also set a school record of 14.23 seconds in the 100m hurdles that ranks eighth in the nation.
 
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) won the 800m with a time that moved her into 31st in the nation (2:13.86). Kass also ran a leg for the 4x400 relay that won with at time of (4:09.38) at the TCNJ Invitational.
 
Softball
Cassie Stallwood (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) led the team in batting average with an impressive .625. Stallwood picked up five hits for the week, having at least one hit in her last four consecutive games.
 
Emily Clauss (Delanco/BCIT) made her presence known against Rutgers-Camden. Clauss was 2-3 with her first career homer, two runs, and two RBI. Clauss had four total hits, and three runs while batting .444, and stealing four bases on her impressive week.
 
Women's Golf
Elenora Byrne (Princeton Jct./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) finished first out of 18 at Ursinus Quad #3 with an 86 to win by two strokes. Byrne parred three holes en route to a 44 on the front nine and then carded three more pars on the way to a 42 on the back nine.
 
Ava Kinkler (Northfield/Mainland) finished third with a 90 that was her career best by nine strokes. Kinkler shot a 45 on each nine, with three pars on the front and two on the back.
 
Women's Tennis
Arielis Martinez (Millville/Cumberland Co. Tech) outlasted her opponent 6-2, 3-6, 11-9 in a close match at No. 2 singles that was decided by a super-tiebreaker after the two players split sets.  
 
Women's Lacrosse
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) led the Ospreys with four goals against #16 Rowan in Stockton's only game last week.
 
Allie Prickett (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) scored two goals against #16 Rowan last week. 
 
Men's Lacrosse
Gage Parker (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) was a force on offense for the Ospreys with a season-high four goals and one assist in a 16-12 win against Mary Washington.
 
Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, Pa/Garnet Valley) helped lead the Ospreys to victory against Mary Washington with a season-high six points. Graham scored three goals and dished three assists, leading the game in assists.
 
Women's Rowing
The Osprey varsity eight of Maggie Dunn (Haddonfield/Haddon Twp.), Giavonna Terruso-Emmons (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek), Olivia Wagner (Lafayette/High Point), Ashley Timm (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT), Reilly Deschenes (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.), Breanna Blisard (Galloway/Cedar Creek), Reese Weirick (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley), Sydney Rowand (Barrington/Haddon Hts.) and coxswain Thalia Gonzalez (Moorestown/Moorestown) won the Division III gold medal for the second time in the last four years. Stockton finished 7.93 seconds behind St. Mary's in the heat but avenged that result by topping the runner-up Seahawks by 86 hundredths of a second in the grand final to capture the gold medal.
