Stockton Wins Twice on Home Court

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (5-2) extended their winning streak to four matches with a pair of victories in a home tri-match. The Ospreys rallied to defeat Randolph-Macon (4-1) 3-2 and then swept Wilkes University (6-2) 3-0.
 
Olivia Magro (Brigantine/ACIT) spiked a career-high 16 kills and Nicole Palmer (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) totaled 14 kills and 16 digs in the five-set win over Randolph-Macon. Kristen Burton (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied 27 assists, six digs and three aces.
 
Fellow setter Ariana Bongiovanni (Charlotte, N.C./Reddington) contributed 13 assists and seven digs. Helen Murray (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) added 14 digs and a team-high four aces.
 
Stockton dominated the first set 25-10 but then dropped two close frames 26-24 and 25-22. The Ospreys tied the match with a 25-10 triumph in the fourth set and completed the comeback by routing the Yellow Jackets 15-3 in the fifth set.
 
Palmer led Stockton to the sweep of Wilkes with 15 kills and a .467 hitting percentage. Calli Miller (Hampstead, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) produced eight kills, a .538 hitting percentage and a match-high three blocks.
 
Burton handed out 14 assists while Bongiovanni and Naomi Neher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) dealt 12 assists apiece, with Neher establishing a career high. Lauren Sommer (York, Pa./Central York) led all players in the match with 15 digs.
 
Stockton won all three sets by identical 25-13 scores. Palmer and Miller led the way with eight and five kills respectively in the first set. Five more kills by Palmer and four from Jalynn Grant (Philadelphia, Pa./North Penn) sparked the Ospreys in set two. Eight different players recorded a kill in the third set.
 
Stockton will continue a six-match homestand on Tuesday when the Ospreys host Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m.
