Palmer Hits 1,000th Kill in Stockton’s Fifth Straight Win

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (6-2) swept Muhlenberg College (4-6) 3-0 for their fifth consecutive victory. Three Ospreys reached double figures in kills and combined for 36 of Stockton's 46 kills on the night.
 
Nicole Palmer (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) led Stockton with a team-high 14 kills and reached the 1,000-kill mark for her career. Palmer also compiled a team-high 14 digs for a double-double.
 
Olivia Magro (Brigantine/ACIT) smacked 12 kills and Jalynn Grant (Philadelphia, Pa./North Penn) added a season-high 10 kills plus a match-high three blocks.
 
Kristen Burton (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding) dished 24 assists followed by Naomi Neher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) with a career-high 14 assists. Helen Murray (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) contributed 11 digs.
 
In the first set, the Ospreys trailed 24-22 and fended off two set points with a 4-0 run to prevail 26-24. Palmer served two aces during the spurt. She and Calli Miller (Hampstead, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) paced the offense with five kills apiece.
 
Palmer and Magro each spiked six kills as Stockton rolled to a 25-15 win in the second set. Palmer reached the 1,000-kill plateau during the third set, becoming the 16th player in Stockton history to achieve that milestone.
 
Grant led the offense with five kills during the third frame as Stockton closed out the match 25-20.
 
Lizzie Steinkamp topped Muhlenberg with a match-high 16 kills and Chloe Gaglione scooped a match-high 16 digs for the Mules.
 
Stockton will host Neumann and Moravian in a tri-match on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively.
