Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (8-3, 0-1 NJAC) began conference play with a 3-0 setback at William Paterson (7-5, 1-0 NJAC) that snapped a seven-match winning streak for the Ospreys. All three sets were very close, but Stockton was unable to prevail in any of them.
Nicole Palmer (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) led the Ospreys with a match-high 13 kills and a team-high 11 digs for her sixth double-double in 11 matches this season.
Jaclyn Niven (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) smacked six kills.
Ariana Bongiovanni (Charlotte, N.C./Reddington) dished 17 assists and
Kristen Burton (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding) handed out 12 assists. Bongiovanni and Burton tallied seven digs apiece.
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) scooped eight digs.
The set scores were 25-22, 25-21, 25-23, with the Ospreys coming out on the wrong end in all three despite a total of 13 tie scores in the match.
Stockton will travel to New York City on Saturday for matches against Pratt at noon and Brooklyn College at 2:00 p.m.
