Post Eligibility Insurance Information

🛡️ NCAA Post-Eligibility Injury Insurance Program

Effective August 1, 2024
Starting August 1, 2024, the NCAA is offering a new injury insurance policy for student-athletes who suffer injuries related to their sport after that date. This summary is for informational purposes only; all coverages and exclusions are governed solely by the terms and conditions of the insurance policy or policies that may apply.

✅ Who’s Eligible?

  • Injury must be sustained during participation in NCAA intercollegiate sports
     
  • Injury must be documented by your institution and on file with the Stockton Athletic Training Services
     
  • You must be separated from athletics (e.g., graduated, withdrawn, transfer, voluntary withdrawal from sport, exhaustion of athletics’ eligibility)

 

🏥 What’s Covered?

  • Coverage lasts up to 2 years after separation from athletics
     
  • The coverage provides benefits in excess of any other valid and collectible insurance
     
  • No cost to you or your school
     
  • Administered by Mutual of Omaha
     
  • Coverage overview
     
    • 🩹 $90,000 per injury with no deductible
       
    • 🧠 Of this limit, up to $25,000 is available for  mental health services related to an injury
May overlap with Stockton University’s secondary athletic accident insurance and/or the individual’s health insurance coverage
 

📋 What You Need to Do

  • Inform Stockton Athletic Training Services about any athletic injuries as they occur

 

📎 How to Submit a Claim

  1. Go to the NCAA claims portal
     
  2. Complete all required fields
     
  3. Provide info about your primary insurance and any current claims
     
  4. Include all supporting documents and signatures
     
  5. The school's Institutional Contact Jessica Spencer Bond (Jessica.Spencer@stockton.edu) will review and verify your claim
