Ford Palmer is in his first year on the Stockton cross country/track & field coaching staff. Palmer trains professionally with the New Jersey-New York Track Club and is sponsored by Hoka One One. He competes primarily in the mile and 1500m, and he helps train the distance and mid-distance runners at Stockton.
A New Jersey native, Palmer graduated from nearby Absegami High School in 2009 and moved on to Monmouth University, where he won the Northeast Conference championship in the 1500m twice and mile once. Palmer’s college career also included three event wins at the IC4A Championships and school records in three individual events and four relays. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Monmouth in 2013.
Palmer won the Sir Walter Miler in 2014 and finished fifth in the 1500m at the 2015 USA Track & Field Championships. In 2016, he placed fifth in the Sir Walter Miler with a personal-best time of 3:56.58 and also ran in the 1500m at the U.S Olympic Trials and mile at the Morton Games in Dublin, Ireland.
