Tom Hewitt enters his 13th season as the head women's rowing coach at Stockton. Hewitt, who is U.S. Rowing Level III certified, came to Stockton in 2005 after a three-year coaching stint at Rutgers University, where he served as coach of the freshman heavyweight squad as well as assistant coach to the varsity heavyweight squad. Prior to coaching at Rutgers, Hewitt was the head coach of the University of California Santa Barbara men's rowing club from 1999-2001 and head coach of the men's varsity lightweight crew team at Columbia University from 1987-1990.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Hewitt coached the United States National Adaptive Rowing Team based out of Philadelphia. Hewitt traveled with the team to the World Rowing Championships in Milan, Italy in the summer of 2003 where the team won a gold medal in doubles row and a bronze in the singles row.

Now a Ventnor resident, Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Columbia in 1986. He also coaches the Stockton men's rowing team, which competes on the club level.
