Michelle (Carlson) Neveling joined the Stockton staff for the 2026 season. Neveling possesses college coaching experience from three years as the head coach at Maryland-Baltimore County (1997-2000) plus a stint at her alma mater The College of New Jersey, where she produced one of the greatest playing careers in NCAA Division III history.

As a player at Trenton State (now TCNJ), Neveling was chosen National Softball Coaches Association Division III Player of the Year in 1994 and 1995, becoming the first two-time winner of that award. She also was the Honda Award winner for Division III softball both years as well as finalist for the prestigious national Honda Award.

Neveling led Trenton State to national championships in 1992 and 1994 plus a national runner-up finish in 1995. She was a three-time All-American, four-time NCAA Division III All-Tournament Team selection, two-time NJAC Player of the Year and two-time ECAC Player of the Year.

Neveling still holds NCAA Division III records for hits (101), runs (84), RBI (96), total bases (204) and slugging percentage (1.259) in a season. For a career, she ranks second in NCAA Division III history in RBI (257), third in hits (299), fourth in total bases (540) and sixth in runs (225).

Neveling holds a bachelor’s degree in health & physical education and a master’s degree in athletic administration, both from TCNJ, where she was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2007.
