Courtney Dougherty was elevated to interim head coach prior to the 2025 season Dougherty is in her 16th season overall on the Stockton coaching staff. She was elevated to associate head coach in 2023 after 13 years as an assistant coach. She helped the Ospreys to 181 wins during the 15 seasons before becoming the head coach.

The Ospreys reached double figures in wins 11 times in 14 full seasons (excluding 2020 Covid year) with Dougherty on the bench, highlighted by consecutive 17-win campaigns in 2012 and 2013.

Dougherty joined the coaching staff after concluding her playing career as a four-year starter for the Ospreys in 2009. 

Dougherty was a four-time NJAC all-conference selection who was voted NJAC Midfielder of the Year and NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic First Team in 2008. She started all 88 games in which she played and tallied 19 goals and 15 assists for 53 career points while sparking Stockton to four consecutive NCAA Tournament berths.  

Dougherty was inducted into the Stockton Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton in 2010 and obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2012 and doctorate in Psychology in 2017, both from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
