Joanna Persiano is in the third year of her second stint on the Stockton coaching staff. Persiano spent two years as an assistant coach for the Ospreys from 2019-21 and rejoined the staff in 2023. She has helped Stockton to 37 victories in her four total years on the staff. Prior to her arrival at Stockton, Persiano was an assistant at Rutgers-Camden for four years from 2015-19, helping the Scarlet Raptors to 58 wins and three NJAC Tournament berths.

As a player, Persiano was a four-year letter winner at Widener University, where she ended her career second on the Pride list with 171 three-pointers. Persiano played in 95 games at Widener (2010-2014), averaging 9.3 points and 2.5 rebounds. She scored 885 career points and added 242 rebounds, 187 assists and 101 steals.
 
Persiano played in 29 games for the 2012-13 Widener team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. She led the Commonwealth Conference in three-point field goal percentage (.424) and finished fifth in three-pointers (50). She also was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
During her senior year, Persiano captured All-MAC Honorable Mention after leading Widener with 66 assists and finishing third on the Pride in scoring (12.1 ppg) and steals (23). Persiano graduated from Widener in 2014 with a degree in Education. She served as a JV/assistant varsity basketball coach at Ridley High School during the 2014-15 season.
