Miller & Pinto Receive NJAC Weekly T&F Honors

(Galloway, NJ) - Two members of the Richard Stockton men's indoor track & field team received NJAC weekly honors.  Sophomore Tim Miller (Tuckerton/Pinelands) was named NJAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week and freshman Tyler Pinto (Toms River/TR North) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for men's indoor track & field.  Miller collected his second career NJAC weekly honor while Pinto earned his first conference award.

Miller won the high jump in the NYU Fastrack Challenge at New York Armory on Friday with a mark of 2.05 meters (6'8.75”) that also set a new school record.  Miller's jump tied him for 11th in the nation this season as well.  The victory was his third of the year in the high jump and he also has one second place finish in the event.  Miller earned an NJAC Honorable Mention nod in the outdoor high jump as a freshman last spring.

Pinto competed in a pair of meets for the Ospreys last week. On Friday, the rookie finished fifth out of 14 runners and qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:06.43.  Pinto was back in the action at Franklin & Marshall's Coach I Open the next day, where he won the 800-meter run in a field of 18 with a time of 2:02.36.  Both times were personal bests in the freshman's brief career so far.  Pinto also competed in five races for the Stockton cross country team during the fall.
