BoxscoreGalloway, NJ – In front of a season high of 375 fans, Richard Stockton (9-4-3, 2-2-2 NJAC) defeated Rowan University (8-7, 3-3 NJAC) by a 3-1 score on Thursday night. The Ospreys were paced by two
Anthony Colofranson (Woodbury Heights/Gateway) goals. The Profs outshot the Ospreys 25-10 for the contest but could only muster eight of them on net and most of their attempts were from long range.
Â
Colofranson got the scoring underway at the 5:35 mark when he took a nice feed from
Bobby Spracklin (Eastampton/Rancocas Valley) then slipped behind the defense for his first tally of the night for his 11th goal of the season. Thirty-five minutes later, after a Rowan foul in the box, Colofranson connected on a penalty kick for the 2-0 lead that would last until half.
Â
The Profs cut the lead to 2-1 when Vinny Ignatowicz blasted a shot from the top of the box and beat Stockton goalie
Bobby Varga (Toms River/Toms River East) for his fourth goal of the season. Silas Wood picked up the helper to tighten the game at 62:42. That momentium shift lasted just 1:51 as
Jared Ruff (Delran/Delran) gave the Ospreys the insurance marker, as he converted a corner kick from
Mike DeFeo (Sicklerville/Timber Creek) to ice the game. The goal was Ruff's second tally of the year.
Â
Varga picked his sixth win of the season, kicking out seven Rowan shots. Kevin Vasta made four saves in net for Rowan in the loss.
Â
Stockton will start a three-game road trip beginning Saturday, when they travel to New Jersey City at 1pm.
