BoxscoreGalloway, NJ – Two goals in the span of 2:23 in the second half sent Richard Stockton (5-6) to their third straight defeat, by a 3-1 score at the hands of DeSales University (8-4) on Tuesday night.
Colleen Knight (Pennsauken/Camden Catholic) tallied the only goal of the evening for the Ospreys. Stockton held advantages in shots (15-11) and penalty corners (10-6) but could not convert the opportunities.

The Bulldogs got on the board first when Tess Luzi deflected a shot from Jesse Marshall to give DeSales a 1-0 lead just 2:33 into the first half. Knight evened the score with a shot into the right corner of the cage for her second goal of the season after
Averi Olive (Sea Isle City/Hammonton) found Knight for the assist to send the teams into the break tied at 1-1. The Ospreys fired the last five shots of the half but could not produce another goal. One of the best chances was snuffed by a defensive save.

Stockton generated some scoring chances early in the second half, including an early shot that was denied by another Bulldogs' defensive save, but the Ospreys could not convert. DeSales' Alison Malatesta scored at 51:07 then assisted on the insurance marker by Nicola McDermott 2:23 later. Stockton was unable to recover from the two-goal flurry and fell 3-1.

Liz Stankiewicz (Freehold Twp./Freehold Twp.) made seven saves in suffering the defeat in net for Stockton. Becky Rasmuson made four saves for DeSales, with Rachel Wysocky and Julia Martinez helping out with defensive saves to preserve the victory.

Stockton will play the second of three straight home games when they will face Rowan University on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 12 pm.
