Galloway, NJ - Richard Stockton (1-1) trailed by as many as 15 points to the No. 1 ranked team in NCAA Division III, FDU-Florham (2-0) in the first half but the Ospreys gamely fought back to within four markers before falling 76-64 on Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Stockton Tip-Off Classic Stockton was trying to end a Devils' winning streak that has now reached 35 consecutive games.
 
The Ospreys opened the game with a 10-5 lead in the first five minutes of the tilt as Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) scored four early points. A 12-0 run in a span of just under four minutes by the Devils gave them a 17-10 lead that they would never relinquish. Led by Leigh-Ann Lively, who scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half, FDU-Florham stretched their advantage to 44-29 before two Osprey fouls shots closed the half time deficit to 44-31 in favor of the Devils.
 
Stockton was not to be deterred against the defending NCAA Division III champs as they worked to close the lead to 59-55 with 5:24 remaining. Nardoza and freshman Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill West) led the charge before the Devils were able to put the game away with one last 12-3 spurt to gain a 71-58 lead with 1:35 left. Stockton was never able to mount another run at the national champs.
 
Nardoza led the Ospreys with a team-high 14 points, three assists and four steals. Williams continued her tremendous opening weekend with 11 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocked shots, giving her a total of 20 points, 23 rebounds and 12 blocks for the two contests. Jazmin Palma (North Bergen/North Bergen) tied Nardoza with four steals.
 
Lively and Alyssa McDonough each scored 17 points while Kyra Dayon added 15 markers and a team-high four steals. Shalette Brown pulled down a game-high 15 boards, with teammate Delisha Thompson grabbing 10 rebounds.
 
Named to the All-Tournament Team were MVP Leigh-Ann Lively and Kyra Dayon from FDU-Florham, Nardoza and Williams from Richard Stockton, Alyssa Gratien from Morrisville State and Kristen Markoe from Hunter.
 
Stockton will be off until Tuesday November 25 when Rowan University will come to Galloway to open the NJAC regular season for the Ospreys. Game time is 6 pm.
