Boxscore(Galloway, NJ) – Richard Stockton (5-2) defeated Neumann University (1-4) 19-9 on Wednesday night for their third consecutive win.
Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) led the Ospreys with four goals with
Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) adding three more scores and an assist. The game was halted due to lightning with 13:38 remaining and delayed nearly an hour before the teams returned to field and completed the contest.
Stockton opened the scoring by hitting the net three times in a span of 1:05 to take a quick 3-0 lead. Wright,
Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) and
Dan Lamela (Brick/Brick Memorial) scored the goals for the Ospreys.
Vinny Gencarelli (Rockaway/Morris Hills) finished up the period with two markers for a 6-1 lead after one quarter. In the second stanza, Gencarelli and
James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) scored along with two more by Wright for a 10-2 Stockton lead at the break.
After Ryan Eber scored three straight goals for the Knights to cut the lead to 10-5 to start the third stanza, Stockton rebounded with six more tallies to take a 16-6 lead after three periods. Bologno garnered two scores with
Guy Loggi (Somers Point/Mainland) getting one of the other markers. Freshman
Corey Chadwick (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) and
Cal Sebor (Freehold/Freehold Twp.) hit the back of the net to finish off the scoring. For Chadwick, it was his first career goal.
The last period saw the teams split six goals with Eber tallying two more for Neumann. Sebor,
Matt Towne (Dover, DE/Dover) and
Max Becker (Oak Ridge/Jefferson) closed out the scoring for Stockton as the Ospreys cruised to their third straight win, 19-9.
Sebor hit the net twice while O'Donnell scored once and dished three assists. Goalkeeper
Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) made eight saves in the first 46:22 to gain the win.
Pat Quinn (Shrewsbury/Red Bank Regional finished up making two saves.
Eber led the Knights with a game-high five goals, with Ryan O'Hare adding two more scores. Goalkeeper Alex Becker kicked out 13 shots for Neumann in the loss.
Stockton's next game will be at home against Arcadia on Saturday. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 pm.
