Stockton Extends Win Streak to Three, 18-4


(Galloway) - Richard Stockton (3-1) scored six unanswered goals to start the game and cruised to a convincing 18-4 win over visiting Immaculata (0-2) on Wednesday night. Tyler Van Benschoten (Saddle Brook/St. Joseph Regional) and Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) led the way with three goals each. Wright also dished two assists.

The Ospreys started the onslaught early when Cal Sebor (Freehold/Freehold Twp.) scored at the 12:08 mark for a 1-0 lead. Freshman Mike Drumm (Fairfield/West Essex) made it 2-0 with his first career goal less than two minutes later. After Van Benschoten hit the net from Wright for a 3-0 advantage, Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) and Alex DiClemente (Wyckoff/Ramapo) scored 13 seconds apart to put Stockton up 5-0. Di Clemente also scored his first career tally.

Van Benschoten, on an assist from Shane Moyer (North Wales, PA/Archbishop Wood), scored his second marker before the Mighty Macs broke into the scoring column for a 6-1 Osprey lead. James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape), from Wright, and Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) rounded out the first period scoring at 8-1.

Matt Towne (Dover, DE/Dover), Manasia and Van Benschoten made it 11-1 in the second stanza. Bologno assisted on the last two goals. Immaculata scored to make it 11-2 before Wright tallied with 24 seconds left to make it 12-2 at the break. Wright completed his hat trick with two goals in the third period to go along with Bologno and Vinny Gencarelli (Rockaway/Morris Hills) for a 15-2 lead after three periods.

C.J. Kaczmarski (Somers Point/Mainland), assisted by Sebor, and Sal Gabriele (Nutley/Nutley) both scored their first career goals in the fourth quarter to offset and Immaculata goal the final score of 18-4.

In addition to Wright and Van Benschoten with three tallies each, Bologno and Manasia scored twice with Bologno dishing four assists. Tony Pagano (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) won 18-19 (94.7%) faceoffs and scooped 10 ground balls. Dan Lamela (Brick/Brick Memorial) and DiClemente picked up eight and six grounders respectively.

Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) picked up his third win, making two saves for Stockton while playing the first 30 half. Pat Quinn (Shrewsbury/Red Bank Regional) and Nick Pearl (Springfield/Jonathan Dayton) each played one period during the second half kicking out three and two shots respectively. 

Tyler Freas led Immaculata with two goals, with Bhelly Bagbonon dishing two assists. Brien Cullen took the loss for Immaculata making eight saves in 19:24 minutes of play. Donald Schiffer (30:13) and Jalal Hodges (10:23) finished up and made 12 saves in relief

Stockton will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they will travel to Wesley for a 1 pm matchup.
