(Galloway, NJ) – Richard Stockton (10-3, 2-1 Skyline) rebounded nicely after having their six-game winning streak snapped with a resounding 17-5 win over Maritime College (4-8, 0-3 Skyline) on Saturday evening. The Ospreys used balanced scoring as 10 players hit the net on the night. This is the third time that the Ospreys have won 10 games or more in a season and first since 2002 when they had a school-record 12 victories.
The Ospreys took the early lead by scoring five goals in the first period.
Alex Epifano (Marlton/Cherokee) assisted on two of the goals. Stockton tallied four more times in the second quarter, including two by
Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven), to take a 9-2 advantage at the half. Stockton never let up during the last two periods, outscoring the Privateers 8-3 in the second half to set the final score at 17-5.
Wright led the way for Stockton with three goals, with
Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon),
Cal Sebor (Freehold/Freehold Twp.),
Max Becker (Oak Ridge/Jefferson) ,
James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) and
Mike Drumm (Fairfield/West Essex) hitting the net twice each.
Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) played the first half, making six saves and earning the win while allowing just two scores.
Pat Quinn (Shrewsbury/Red Bank Regional) played 21:06 of the second half, kicking out five shots, with
Nick Pearl (Springfield/Jonathan Dayton) finishing up without having to make a save.
Five different Privateers tallied goals with Dylan Larmony scoring a goal and an assist to lead the team. Matt Hayes won 16-23 (.697) faceoffs, scored a goal and picked up a game-high 14 ground balls for Maritime. Mike Arnold played the first 57:08 in net, making 13 saves but suffering the loss. Alex Haim finished the contest without having to make a save.
Stockton will take to the road on Monday to play against Rosemont College for a 4 pm match.
