(Troy, NY) – Richard Stockton (1-1-1) dropped their first game of the season by a 1-0 score at the hands of unbeaten Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (3-0) on Tuesday night. The contest was the third road game in the first five days of the season for Stockton. The loss also broke the scoreless streak of the team and Ospreys' goalkeeper Bobby Varga (Toms River/Toms River East) at 265:45.

A scoreless first half saw Stockton hold a 7-3 advantage in shots and just four shots on goal by both squads failed to find the net. The second half began much like the opening stanza until the Engineers' Matt Koziol scored his second goal of the season on a free kick from the right side of the box at the 65:45 mark for the 1-0 lead. The RPI defense held off the Ospreys without allowing a shot on goal in the second half.

Varga suffered his first loss of the season, kicking out four shots in net for Stockton. Anthony Colofranson (Woodbury Hts./Gateway) registered six of the Ospreys' 10 shots, including two on goal, but Stockton was shut out for the second straight game to extend their scoreless streak to 204 minutes.

Stockton will play again on Friday and Saturday in the Stockton Seashore Classic. They will face Brooklyn College on Friday night at 5 pm. The Ospreys return to the pitch at G. Larry James Stadium to face John Carroll on Saturday at 5:30 pm. TCNJ will also participate in the Seasohre Classic as they face John Carroll on Friday at 7:30 pm before taking on Brooklyn on Saturday at 3 pm.
