BoxscoreGalloway, NJ – Richard Stockton (16-2, 10-1 NJAC), ranked #13 nationally by D3hoops.com, picked up their fourth straight victory with a come-from-behind 65-57 victory over visiting Rutgers-Newark (13-5, 7-4) on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys rebounded from a 10-point halftime deficit by shooting a blistering 60 percent (15-25), including 7-11 (63.6%) from behind the arc, in the second half to gain the win. Stockton also amassed 15 assists on their 24 baskets for the game.

The Ospreys kept the game close for most of the first 20 minutes despite poor shooting. With the game tied 11-11, the Scarlet Raiders took advantage of Stockton's misfortune, nearly doubling up the Ospreys, ending the first stanza on a 21-11 run to lead 32-22 at the break. Rutgers-Newark shot 57.9 percent (11-19) to help gain the lead while Stockton hit on just 9-26 (34.6%) during the first half.

To start the second half, the Ospreys quickly turned the deficit into a 38-35 lead on the strength of 16-3 spurt.
Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) accounted for nine of those points on three long-range three-pointers. Stockton was down 49-46 when Myles Ruben (Edison/J.P. Stevens) nailed a three-pointer to forge the seventh and last tie at 49-49.

After Rutgers-Newark went back in front 51-49,
Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) and Blamon sank consecutive three-pointers and
Anthony Woodard (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) followed with a dunk to cap an eight-point burst that made it 57-51 with 2:22 to play. Two foul shots apiece by
Zavon Johnson (Trenton/Windsor-Plainsboro South) and Cane plus a tip-in by Woodard provided the cushion for the Ospreys in the final minute.

Blamon led the way for Stockton with a game-high 21 points, including 5-7 from behind the arc. Cane added 13 markers with Woodard scoring 10 of his 12 points after the break, grabbing a team-high seven rebounds and snuffing two shots. Freshman
Onnir Kendall (Williamstown/Williamstown) dished a game- and career-high six assists for the Ospreys.

For the Scarlet Raiders, Christian Garcia led the team with 14 points, four assists and seven rebounds. Jordan McDaniel tallied all 13 of his markers in the first half while teammate Chris Foreman added 11 more points, 10 after the break. McDaniel also nabbed seven rebounds.
