BoxscoreJersey City, NJ – Richard Stockton (9-3, 5-1 NJAC) played its first game since December 18 and came away with a 70-58 victory over New Jersey City (6-6, 1-5) for its eighth win in the last nine games.
Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) went 11-12 at the free throw line and finished with a game-high 17 points and a team-high three assists. As a team, the Ospreys shot 31-42 (73.8%) from the stripe.

Sara Farrell (Marlton/Cherokee) contributed 12 points and nine rebounds followed by
Lauren Alwan (Cherry Hill/Timber Creek) with nine points, nine boards and a team-high five steals.
Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/CH West) led Stockton with 11 caroms and five blocks to go with eight points. The Ospreys showed some rust with 19 turnovers but forced 25 NJCU miscues at the defensive end.

Farrell scored four points during a 10-2 run that gave the Ospreys a 15-8 lead nine minutes into the game. The advantage reached double digits on two Nardoza free throws with 3:33 on the clock and peaked at 11 after an Alwan layup before Stockton settled for a 30-21 cushion at the break. Nardoza topped the Ospreys with seven points followed by Alwan with six.
Marina Lukianov (Howell/Howell) gave Stockton a lift off the bench with five of her eight points in the first half.

The Ospreys slumped early in the second half, scoring just nine points in the first 9:41 as the Gothic Knights tied the game at 39-39.
Jazmin Palma (North Bergen/North Bergen) then hit three of four free throws in an 18-second span to give Stockton the lead for good with the first three points of a 6-0 spurt.

NJCU pulled within 49-47 at the seven-minute mark but Farrell ignited a 10-2 run with a three-point play. After two baskets by Williams, Lukianov drained a three-pointer to put Stockton ahead 59-49 with 4:13 to play and the Ospreys closed out the 70-58 win by scoring their last 11 points at the line. Overall, Stockton was 23-31 (74.2%) at the stripe in the second half.

Stockton will host Ramapo in an NJAC home game on Monday afternoon, January 12 at 2 pm.
