BoxscoreAllentown, PA – Stockton University (3-9) scored twice in the first half and shut out DeSales University (3-11) 2-0 for the Ospreys' first road win of the season.
Laura Olbrich (Pittsgrove/A.P. Schalick) and
Leah Davies (Ocean City/Ocean City) each scored a goal, with
Kellie Brining (Cherry Hill/CH West) assisting on both. Goalkeeper
Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made six saves for her second shutout of the year.
The Ospreys needed just 7:41 to get on the board. Olbrich took a centering pass from Brining and potted her third goal of the season for the early 1-0 lead. Olbrich scored for the second consecutive game. With 13:36 left in the first half, Davies tipped in a pass from Brining following a penalty corner to make it a 2-0 advantage for Stockton.
The Ospreys held advantages of 17-8 in shots and 10-8 in penalty corners. Sorochynskyj made two saves in the first half and four more in the second to backstop the Stockton defense in keeping DeSales scoreless for the Ospreys' second shutout of the season. A total of 23 Stockton players saw action in the game and the victory snapped a three-game skid.
Stockton will continue its five-game road trip with a visit to William Paterson on Saturday for an NJAC game at 1 p.m.
