Stockton Plays 2-2 Tie at Franklin & Marshall

Boxscore

Lancaster, PA – Stockton University (11-2-5) went on the road and played a 2-2 tie with Franklin & Marshall (3-9-2) in a non-conference night game. The draw set a school record of five ties in a season for the Ospreys and also extended their unbeaten streak to six (4-0-2). Alexa Fama (Linwood/Mainland) scored in the first half and Lindsey Thomas (Swedesboro/Kingsway) hit the net in the second half.

Fama scored her team-high sixth goal of the season and fifth in the last four games unassisted with 15:18 gone to give Stockton a 1-0 lead. Courtney Overacker tied it five minutes later with the first goal allowed by the Ospreys in 358 minutes and Kate Kerr later put Stockton behind 2-1 with 11:02 left in the first half.

The Ospreys wasted little time in the second half, pulling into a 2-2 tie just 4:25 into the period as Thomas connected for her fifth goal of the year, assisted by Adrianna Boucher (Hamilton/Steinert). Neither team was able to break through for the go-ahead tally during the rest of the stanza or the two overtime periods and the final result was a 2-2 deadlock.

Stockton outshot Franklin & Marshall 14-8 and Ospreys' goalkeeper Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) finished with one save. F&M goalie Shannon Johnson-Finn made five saves for the Diplomats.

Stockton will go on the road again on Saturday for an NJAC game at Kean University at 7:30 p.m.
