BoxscoreAllentown, PA – Stockton University (3-13) took the early lead and held it until the last 14 minutes when Muhlenberg (11-4) rallied past the Ospreys 2-1 on a pair of late scores.
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) potted Stockton's goal and
Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made seven saves in the game.
Massa tied for the team lead in goals with her fourth and moved into the team lead in points with 10 by scoring just 3:27 into the game. Her blast from the top of the arc came on a penalty corner and was assisted by
Corinne Russo (Ringwood/Lakeland), who collected her first career point on the play.
Stockton led for the next 53 minutes before Muhlenberg's Laura Holdman knotted the game at 1-1 with 13:07 on the clock. Massa nearly put the Ospreys back in front four minutes later but her shot off another penalty corner was denied by a defensive save from one of the Mules' field players.
Stockton fell behind on a goal by Stephi Rydgren with only 2:49 remaining and could not come up with the equalizer despite two penalty corners and another shot by Massa down the stretch. The frustrating setback was Stockton's fourth straight one-goal defeat, with the Ospreys taking an early 1-0 lead in three of them.
Stockton will conclude the 2015 season with an NJAC home game against 10th-ranked Montclair State on Saturday at noon.
