BoxscoreGalloway, NJ – #19 Richard Stockton (18-5, 12-4 NJAC) suffered through another difficult outing at the offensive end and fell to New Jersey City (10-12, 8-8) 70-65 for its second consecutive loss and third in the last five games. The Ospreys shot 34 percent from the field, committed 23 turnovers and never led. They shot less than 38 percent from the floor for the fourth consecutive time.

Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) and
Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) carried the Stockton offense with 24 and 22 points respectively but no other Osprey scored more than six. Blamon went 12-13 at the free throw line and also recorded game highs of 10 rebounds and five steals. The double-double was Blamon's fourth of the season. Cane hit six of Stockton's nine three-pointers and also grabbed seven boards.

Stockton struggled right from the outset, falling behind 22-10 in the first nine minutes. After pulling within four later in the half, the Ospreys were outscored 12-4 in the last four minutes of the period and trailed 41-29 at the break. Blamon and Cane scored 13 and 10 points respectively but Stockton shot just 29.2 percent including 3-10 from three-point range.

In the second half, the deficit reached 14 points before Stockton made a run. Cane hit four three-pointers, including three straight, during a 14-3 run that closed the gap to 48-45 with 9:50 remaining. After some back-and-forth action,
Tom Catanoso (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) sank a layup to get Stockton within 52-50 at the 7:44 mark, the closest the Ospreys had been since 7-5.

Stockton could not overtake NJCU as the Gothic Knights responded with eight consecutive points while the Ospreys went scoreless for the next 2:12 and trailed 60-50. The margin was at least two possessions for the rest of the game as Stockton fell 70-65.

Four New Jersey City players hit double figures led by Neville Joseph with 18 points plus a team-high seven rebounds. Jamall McDaniel and David Cole contributed 10 points apiece while Khalid Muhammad finished with 10 markers.

The Ospreys will be back in action on Saturday for an NJAC road game at Kean at 1 pm.
