Stockton Rolls to Seventh Straight Win, 85-47

Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Richard Stockton (19-4, 15-1 NJAC) used a stifling defense and efficient shooting as they rolled to their seventh consecutive win, a dominating 85-47 victory over New Jersey City (9-14, 3-13 NJAC) on Wednesday night. The Ospreys held the Gothic Knights to just 27.1% (19-70) shooting on the night while hitting 31-63 (49.2%) from the field. The 85 points marked the highest scoring output of the season for Stockton.

With the game tied at 10-10 early in the first half, Stockton quickly distanced themselves from the visitors. The Ospreys sprinted out on a 22-2 run that put the game away, with Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) netting seven of those markers. The Ospreys ended the half banging in three-pointers from Marina Lukianov (Howell/Howell) and Sara Farrell (Marlton/Cherokee) and four points each from Alwan and Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) for a 43-21 advantage at the break.

Stockton began the second half with a 19-4 run in the first seven minutes, led by Nardoza with eight points and Farrell with four. The Ospreys led 62-25 with 13:11 to play and cruised down the stretch as 16 Stockton players saw action in the second stanza and the margin never dipped below 24 points on the way to the Ospreys' seventh consecutive win.

Alwan and Nardoza led the Ospreys with 16 points apiece, with Alwan grabbing 11 rebounds and pilfering five of the team's 10 steals. Farrell and Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill West) tallied 13 markers each, with Williams pulling down a game-high 12 boards. Williams, the league's leading shot blocker, also swatted away seven shots, all in the first half.

Lukianov rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points on 3-4 shooting, which included 2-3 from behind the arc, plus a perfect 4-4 at the line. Lauren Bowler (Little Silver/Red Bank Regional) led the squad, dishing five assists. Stockton held a massive 52-35 advantage on the glass and dished 20 assists on their 31 baskets for the game.

Jade Medley and Deseree Johnson were the only Gothic Knights to hit double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively. Bria Smith and Ziyadah Williams pulled down six rebounds each to lead the team.

Stockton's next game will be Saturday afternoon when they will travel to Kean University for their last regular season road game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 pm.
