BoxscoreGalloway, NJ – Richard Stockton (18-3, 12-2 NJAC) ranked #17 nationally by D3hoops.com, went the last 11:26 without scoring a field goal but came away with a gutsy 58-51 win over Rutgers-Camden (11-10, 5-9 NJAC) on Wednesday night. The Ospreys scored their last 19 points at the free throw line to offset a 14-46 (30.4%) shooting night. The victory was the 15th straight over the Scarlet Raptors by Stockton dating back to the 2007-08 season.

The Ospreys, who lead the NJAC in scoring defense, used that to their advantage during the first 20 minutes of play, holding the Raptors to just 26.9% (7-26) from the field. Stockton was able to push the lead to as many as 10 before settling for a 28-19 margin at the break.
Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) and
Darius Jerkins (Somers Point/Mainland) led the way with nine and seven points respectively.

Stockton looked like they would be able to handle Rutgers-Camden but then their cold shooting from the field allowed the Scarlet Raptors to get back in the game. With the score 39-32 in favor of the Ospreys, the Scarlet Raptors rallied back and take a one point lead at 43-42, with 6:16 remaining, using an 11-3 run. Myles Reuben (Edison/J.P. Stevens) gave Stockton the lead for good with two free throws at the 48-second mark to begin a stretch of 9-10 at the line, including 6-6 byÂ
Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) to sew up the win.

Blamon led the Ospreys with 16 points, 14 after the break, which included 14-15 from the line. Cane added 15 markers and a game-high 10 rebounds that tied his career high. Stockton held a 45-27 advantage on the glass for the game. Blamon also dished three assists and pilfered three steals. Jerkins' seven points were a career high for the freshman.

For the Scarlet Raptors, Polk led all players with 21 points and a game-high four assists. Teon Russell was the only other player in double figures with 10 markers and a team-high nine rebounds.
