Stockton Moves to 6-0 with 17-3 Win

Aston, PA – Stockton University (6-0) rolled to a 17-3 victory over winless Neumann University (0-4) to extend its winning streak to six games since the start of the season. The Ospreys built a 9-0 lead and continued to dominate, equaling their season low for goals allowed and coming within one of their season high for goals scored. Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) potted a game-high four goals to pace Stockton.
 
James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) contributed three goals and two assists for five points. Tony Pagano (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) scored his first three goals of the season, won 19 of 22 faceoffs and led all players with 13 ground balls. Ten different Ospreys scored goals in the game and all three goalkeepers saw action.
 
Stockton outshot Neumann 20-3 in the first quarter and built an 8-0 lead. Andrew Clarkson (Marlton/Cherokee) opened the scoring and Pagano netted the first of his two first-period tallies just 14 seconds later. O'Donnell also hit the net twice in the opening stanza while Tyler Van Benschoten (Saddle Brook/St. Joseph Regional) and Max Becker (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) also struck.

Matt Towne (Dover, DE/Dover) made it 9-0 with 2:02 gone in the second quarter before Neumann got on the board. The Ospreys answered with three straight goals, two by Manasia and one by O'Donnell for a 12-1 lead at the half.
 
Goals by Guy Loggi (Somers Point/Mainland) and Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) increased the advantage to 14-1 after three periods. Stockton closed out the 17-3 rout by outscoring Neumann 3-2 in the final quarter on goals by Pagano, Manasia and freshman Mark Scherzer (Holmdel/Holmdel) with his first career tally.
 
Stockton goalkeeper Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) played the first half and made three saves. Matthew Deiner (Millstone/Christian Brothers Academy) stopped all four shots on goal that he faced in the third quarter and Pat Quinn (Shrewsbury/Red Bank Regional) followed with five saves in the fourth quarter.
 
Stockton will hit the road again on Saturday for a 4 pm tilt at Albright.
