Stockton Back On Winning Track with 16-4 Victory

Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (5-1) gave up the first goal of the game in the first minute but scored the next seven goals on the way to a convincing 16-4 victory over Bard College (0-3) on Saturday afternoon. The contest finished up a three-game homestand for Stockton, who rebounded nicely after suffering their first defeat of the season on Thursday. Stockton outshot the Raptors 28-10 and forced 26 turnovers.

Bard got on the board first, just 51 seconds into the contest for a 1-0 lead that was quickly erased by the Ospreys.  Seven straight tallies, including two by Skyler Mahoney-Kendra (Tinton Falls/St. John Vianney), gave Stockton a 7-1 lead that proved to be all they would need. Five of the markers came in a span of 4:39 and Nicole Miller (Southampton/Seneca) contributed a goal and two assists during the outburst.

Another Raptors marker made it 7-2 before the Ospreys reeled off five more scores to offset one Bard tally and led 12-3 at the break. Mahoney-Kendra scored all three of her goals during the first half while Zoey Kramer (Eatontown/Red Bank Catholic) chipped in with two goals and three assists.

The second half became academic as Stockton outscored the Raptors 4-1 during the period and cruised to the 16-4 final. Miller and Kramer added to their totals with a goal and an assist apiece in the second half.

Kramer led the way with three goals and four assists for seven points.  Mahoney-Kendra, Miller and Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) each hit the net three times, with Miller dishing three assists for a six-point afternoon.

Freshman Brianna Rolke (Berlin/Eastern) added two goals and dished one helper. Defensively, freshman Nicole DiNardo (Morton, PA/Ridley) led the way with four caused turnovers and scooped four ground balls.

Stockton goalkeeper Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami) made three saves, earning the win. Raptors' goalie Kaylynn Tran made seven saves in taking the loss. Joanna Regan scored two of the four tallies for Bard College.

Stockton will travel to Elizabethtown on Tuesday afternoon for their next game. Start time is scheduled for 4 pm.
