Salisbury, MD –Stockton University (22-6) defeated the McDaniel Green Terror (24-4) and in doing so won their first NCAA Division III Tournament game since the 2000 season. The Ospreys shot 52.0% (26-50) from the field and had 20 assists on their 26 baskets for the contest. Sara Farrell (Marlton/Cherokee) scored 18 points and also netted her 1,000th career point in the game. The 22nd victory of the season also tied the single season mark in wins for Stockton.

The Ospreys started the game strong as they raced out to a 24-9 lead with 10:03 left in the first stanza. Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) led the way with eight markers during the outburst, with Farrell and Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) netting six points each. McDaniel then closed the gap by responding with a 22-8 run to pull within one at 32-31 in favor of the Ospreys at the break.

The second half saw the Ospreys put the game away with an opening 14-6 spurt to take a commanding 46-37 lead that they would not relinquish. Stockton methodically pulled away by using tough defense as they held McDaniel to just 18 second half points on 8-39 (20.5%) shooting, that included 1-13 (7.7%) from behind the arc.

Farrell notched her 1,000th career point with 5:47 remaining in the contest. A missed three-pointer was rebounded by Lauren Bowler (Little Silver/Red Bank Regional). Bowler's outlet pass found Alwan, who fed Farrell for a layup that gave her the milestone.

Freshman Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill West) missed a triple/double by one block as she dominated inside with 14 points, 11 boards and nine blocks.
