Manhattanville boxscoreClermont, FL – Stockton University (2-0) got the 2015 season off to a great start with two victories in Florida. Stockton pitchers allowed just two runs on the day as the Ospreys defeated Westfield State (MA) 5-1 and Manhattanville (NY) 3-1.
Holly Arentowicz (Roxbury/Roxbury) sparked the offense with three hits total.

Brittany Ksiezopolski (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) tossed a four-hitter with six strikeouts and helped her own cause with two hits and an RBI against Westfield State. Arentowicz went 2-3 with a double and a run while
Marisa Ortiz (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) was 2-3 with a run scored. The Ospreys snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth inning and added one more in the fifth for the 5-1 final.

Samantha Shockey (Deptford/Deptford) made her first appearance on the mound since 2013 and limited Manhattanville, which reached the NCAA Tournament last year, to one run on five hits while striking out three for the win. Shockey also went 1-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI at the plate.
Dominique Dorris (Mantua/Clearview) ripped an RBI triple in the first inning. Stockton later snapped a 1-1 tie on RBI hits by Shockey and Arentowicz in the third frame for the 3-1 victory.

Stockton will play two more games in Florida tomorrow, taking on St. Mary's (IN) at 11 am and Hood College (MD) at 3 pm.
