Stockton Downed 8-4 by Rutgers-Camden

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (11-8, 3-4) was doubled 8-4 by Rutgers-Camden (11-9, 6-1) in an NJAC road game. The Ospreys trailed 4-0 after four innings and could not rally from the deficit, finishing with just six hits in the game. George Eisenhart (Harrison Twp./Clearview) went 2-4 with two RBI while Brett Solomen (Harrison Twp./Clearview) was 2-3 with a run scored. Eisenhart and Solomen now have reached base in 19 consecutive games.
 
The Scarlet Raptors scored single runs in the first and third innings then added two more in the fourth for a 4-0 count. The Ospreys got on the board in the fifth frame as Erik Danser (Marlton/Cherokee) led off with a single, moved to third on a double by Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) and scored on a balk. Rutgers-Camden answered with a run in the bottom half to make it 5-1.
 
Eisenhart delivered an RBI single in the sixth frame to score Keith Tappert (Toms River/TR East), who had reached on an error, to get the Ospreys within 5-2. Stockton missed a chance for more, leaving the bases loaded. Rutgers-Camden added to its lead with three runs in the seventh inning that made the score 8-2.
 
In the eighth stanza, Eisenhart added another RBI single while Solomen singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Mark Jankowski (Sewell/Washington Twp.) but the Ospreys could get no closer and fell 8-4.
 
Stockton will be right back in action tomorrow when the Ospreys host William Paterson in an NJAC doubleheader at 12:30 pm.
