Game 2Glenside, PA – Stockton University (17-16) split its next-to-last doubleheader of the regular season, a non-conference twinbill at Arcadia (15-21). The Ospreys prevailed 2-0 in the first game but fell 10-5 in the second.
Samantha Shockey (Deptford/Deptford) pitched her third shutout of the season in the opener and totaled three hits on the day.

Shockey scattered nine hits and struck out one while Stockton was held to five hits but capitalized on its best opportunity to edge the Knights. Shockey led off the fourth inning with a single and was replaced by pinch runner
Alison Bastien (Barrington/Haddon Hts.). A one-out single by
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) put two runners aboard. A sacrifice bunt set the stage for
Holly Arentowicz (Roxbury/Roxbury), who delivered a two-run single for the only scoring in the 2-0 Stockton victory.

The Ospreys slapped 12 hits in the nightcap but left nine runners on base and were outdone by Arcadia who tallied 10 runs on 13 hits.
Dominique Dorris (Mantua/Clearview) went 2-4 with a solo home run while
Marisa Ortiz (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Shockey contributed two hits, a run and an RBI as well.

Ortiz smacked an RBI double in the top of the first but the Knights scored twice in the bottom half. Stockton regained the lead in the top of the second on RBI singles by
Nicole Tomo (Cedar Grove/Cedar Grove) and then Shockey for a 3-2 edge.

Arcadia took the lead for good at 5-3 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Dorris brought Stockton within 5-4 with her team-leading fourth homer of the year in the fifth frame. The Knights broke the game open with five runs in the sixth inning before an RBI single by Ortiz in the seventh set the final score at 10-5.

Stockton will conclude the regular season by hosting an NJAC doubleheader against William Paterson on Saturday at 1 pm.
