Ospreys Roll over Rutgers-Camden 18-6

Camden, NJ – Stockton University (8-3, 1-1 NJAC) dominated Rutgers-Camden (1-8, 0-2) 18-6 for its first conference victory of the season. The Ospreys broke the game open with nine unanswered goals in the second half. Lauren Ivancich (Beach Haven/Southern Regional) led Stockton with five goals followed by Zoey Kramer with four goals and three assists for seven points. Skyler Mahoney-Kendra (Tinton Falls/St. John Vianney) tossed in three goals for the Ospreys.
 
After yielding the first tally of the game, Stockton surged to the lead with four straight markers, two by Kramer and one each by Ivancich and Nicole Miller (Southampton/Seneca), who also dished three assists in the contest. Rutgers-Camden got one back before Sarah Brenner (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) scored and Ivancich followed with two goals, the second coming with just four seconds left in the half and giving the Ospreys a 7-2 lead at the break.
 
Mahoney-Kendra needed just 18 seconds after the second half began to net her first goal and Kim Raichelson (Brick/Brick Memorial) potted one 57 seconds later for a commanding 9-2 advantage. The Scarlet Raptors answered once before a nine-goal onslaught that covered nearly 18 minutes. Ivancich, Kramer and Mahoney-Kendra each scored twice while Brenner, Raichelson and Brianna Rolke (Berlin/Eastern) added one goal apiece.
 
The Ospreys led 18-3 before Rutgers-Camden pumped in three goals in the last six minutes to set the final score at 18-6. With the win, Stockton snapped a brief two-game losing streak. Goalkeeper Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami) earned the win with one save in the first 48:53. Liz Tully (Ocean City/Ocean City) played the last 11:07 between the pipes. The Ospreys outshot Rutgers-Camden 40-11, including 29 shots on goal.
 
Stockton returns home to host Kean University in an NJAC game on Saturday at 7 pm.
